ASL CoA Risk-Based Guidelines - Austin/Travis County

Austin Public Health has published the first rendition of a color-coded chart to help residents understand the stages of health risk along with guidelines to stay safe as we move forward.

This chart lays out 5 stages of risk: the lowest stage is Stage 1 and the highest stage is Stage 5.

These guidelines covers a variety of activities, including practicing good hygiene, staying home if you are sick, avoiding people who are sick, maintaining social distancing, wearing face coverings, avoiding gatherings, avoiding non-essential travel, avoiding dining and shopping, and returning to your work place.

The guidelines are not policy direction to lawmakers, but rather are the first rendition of medically-grounded recommendations for Austin and Travis County residents to understand what they should be doing at different risk levels.

There are separate guidelines in the chart for higher-risk individuals and lower-risk individuals.

People at a higher risk of complications or death from COVID-19 should take additional precautions beyond those of lower-risk individuals to keep themselves safe.
